Fun, enjoyable and guaranteed snow skiing in one of Austria's favorite resorts
If you are looking for a rustic and traditional town with modern ski lifts and access to the largest ski area in the country.Austriathen Mayrhofen is your place. Unlike other ski resorts, in Mayrhofen you will find many options: there are a large number of bars, restaurants and shops.
In the famous Zillertal ski area you will have 535 km of slopes. Be sure to explore the Hintertux Glacier - you'll never get tired of powder skiing and stunning views. Here you are above the clouds, which means you will avoid bad weather further down the mountain.
Mayrhofen is one of the best resorts for skiers, snowboarders and freestylers. If you're a freestyler, you won't want to miss the chance to practice your tricks in one of the biggest snow parks in Europe: Penken Park. You'll find it on the sunny side of the Hornberg mountain, divided into six separate areas and even has its own cable car.
You can also try the steepest track in Austria: the Hara Kiri. If you complete it, you will earn a T-shirt that says "I survived Hara Kiri". There is plenty for beginners too - learning areas, quality teaching and lots of blue runs.
Before heading down the mountain, why not enjoy a drink inside the igloo village? All ages love this place. On the way down you won't be able to resist a stop at lively Pilzbar - you'll hear the party a kilometer away.
Once back in town, the fun continues: whether it's a relaxed cocktail party, a friendly pub crawl or a wild party, Mayrhofen has you covered. The night usually starts in the ice bar and ends at dawn in Brück'n Stadl. You will quickly discover what Austrian après ski is famous for. If you can't make it until dinner, we recommend Gasser Deli: it serves traditional meats and is the perfect pre-après-ski stop.
